Hudu Radar Licensing

Administrators and above can view their instance's current Radar license count and usage by navigating to Admin --> License Key.  Here, you'll see the total number of purchased Hudu licenses along with a list of the companies that are currently using Hudu Radar. 

Purchasing Hudu Radar Licenses

You will need one Radar license for each company/space/client that you'd like to utilize Radar in. Visit Hudu HQ portal to manage the number of licensed companies for your instance. Once you have added or updated the number of Radar licenses, go to Admin → License Key in your Hudu instance, and click Refresh Radar Licenses to apply the changes. After that, you should see the option to Enable Hudu Radar in Admin > External Apps.

Pricing for Hudu Radar is $10 per company per month, or $9 per company per month when billed annually.

Utilizing a Radar License

To begin utilizing a Radar license for a company, simply navigate to that company's IPAM section and click Activate Hudu Radar in the top right. This will automatically create a Hudu Radar section in the left side panel. Once Hudu Radar has been activated, one Radar license will be used by that company.

To get started, navigate to the Hudu Radar section:

Step 1. Download Radar

  • Download and install the Radar application on a Windows machine within the client's network.

Step 2. Get Radar code

  • Each company using Radar is assigned a unique code. Keep this code secure, as it is used to identify your Radar deployments.

Step 3. Start Scanning

  • Once installed, Radar will automatically begin scanning the network and populating this page with data. In the meantime, check out some helpful resources to make sure you're getting the most out of Hudu Radar.

 

If all purchased Hudu Radar codes are in use, users will receive an error message when they click the Hudu Radar Code button in a company that is not already utilizing a Radar license. For example, if I purchase two Radar licenses then click the Hudu Radar Code button in Company A, B, then C, I'll receive an error for Company C showing that no Hudu Radar licenses are available.

 

Managing Radar Use Per Company

A Radar license is assigned to a company when a user generates a Hudu Radar code from the IPAM section of the company. If you need to remove Radar from a company, simply click "Remove" next to the company's name in the Hudu Radar section on Admin --> License Key. This will remove Radar from the company and free up a license for use by another company. If Radar is removed from a company, any networks and/or assets created in the company by Radar will remain but will no longer receive automatic updates from Radar scans. The network map created by Radar will also be removed. 

 

Radar Limited Mode

If the number of companies using Radar is greater than the number of paid Radar licenses in Hudu HQ, your instance will automatically be placed in Hudu Radar Limited Mode. This means that Radar scans will pause and network maps will be removed until the discrepancy is fixed. This situation could arise if you reduce the number of Radar licenses in Hudu HQ before you reduce the number of companies using Radar in your instance.
