Starting with the Hudu HQ Billing Portal
We're thrilled to introduce our new billing portal, Hudu HQ, designed to provide a centralized place for managing your account, subscriptions, and user licenses. Whether you need to add new users, adjust user counts, or update your billing information, Hudu HQ is your go-to platform.
Whether you are a new user signing up for the first time, starting a free trial, or an existing customer, we've put together this guide to help you navigate the new Hudu HQ billing portal.
Creating a Hudu HQ Account
For both new and existing customers, your journey with the Hudu HQ begins by setting up an account. Here's a step-by-step guide to get you started:
- Visit Hudu HQ Sign-Up.
- Enter your credentials and click Sign-Up.
- Follow the instructions to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Read and accept the Hudu Terms of Service.
Starting a Free Trial in HQ (New Customers)
Eager to test the waters before committing? Once you have signed up for your free trial on our website, get started setting up your HQ account with these steps:
- Create a Hudu HQ account.
- Specify the number of users for the trial.
- Choose your hosting method (hosted or self-hosted).
- Visit Trial Information for additional details on the differences.
- Click Start Free trial.
- Select your preferred data center.
- We'll start working on setting up your trial environment. Once complete, your HQ account will be updated with your instance URL and activation key.
- Visit your instance URL and create an account (this will be the first super-admin for the environment).
- Enter the license/activation key provided in Hudu HQ.
- Manage your trial straight from Hudu HQ, including changing the number of users.
- When ready, select 'setup billing' to convert to a paid subscription.
- Follow the instructions for setting up a self-hosted environment.
- Visit your instance URL and create an account (this will be the first super-admin for the environment).
- Enter the license/activation key provided in Hudu HQ.
- Manage your trial straight from Hudu HQ, including changing the number of users.
- When ready, select 'setup billing' to convert to a paid subscription.
Switching over to Hudu HQ (Existing Customers)
If you're already a paying Hudu customer, we must link your new Hudu HQ account to your existing billing account and license key. Follow these steps:
- Create your Hudu HQ account as outlined above.
- On the 'My Dashboard' tab, find the section titled "Already a Hudu Customer".
- Follow the link to submit a support ticket to our team.
- Please provide us with the following:
- The billing email (linked to your previous billing account) and your license key.
- Your billing email is the email address used to previously set up billing; this is likely the email that is receiving invoices currently.
- Your license key can be found in your Hudu Admin >> License Key tab.
- and, your Customer Identifier code provided by Hudu HQ.
- The billing email (linked to your previous billing account) and your license key.
Additional Hudu HQ Actions
Adding and removing licenses from your billing plan needs to be done first in your Hudu HQ account. To adjust your licensed user count:
- On the left-hand side menu, click My Billing.
- Click the button Access Your Billing Portal.
- Click Update Plan.
- Increase or decrease the quantity to reflect your desired number of users.
- To see the license count change in your Hudu environment immediately, you will need to manually force the license key to check against the billing server:
- Navigate to Hudu > Admin > License Key.
- Select Change Key.
- Click Update.
- Please note, only Super Admins can access the License Key.
- On the left-hand side menu, click My Billing.
- Click the button Access Your Billing Portal.
- Under Payment Method, select + Add Payment Method.
- Enter details to add a new card or connect your bank account.
- Click Add when complete.
- Under Current Plan, select the pencil icon next to your current payment method.
- Select the desired payment method to use from the list.
- Click Update.
Changing your subscription type is currently an action that needs to be handled by our support team. Please submit a ticket.
Hudu offers both monthly and annual billing options. If you need to switch your subscription preference (either from monthly billing to annual billing or vice versa), please submit a ticket to our support team.
- On the left-hand side menu, click My Billing.
- Click the button Access Your Billing Portal.
- Under Billing Information, click Update Information.
- Enter your new billing information and click Save.
To view all invoices on your account:
- On the left-hand side menu, click My Billing.
- Click the button Access Your Billing Portal.
- All past invoices will show up under the Invoice History section.
- To download an invoice or receipt, click to open the desired invoice.
Resetting your Hudu HQ MFA is an action that needs to be handled by our support team. Please submit a ticket.
Hudu HQ requires you to have MFA set up for your account. If this needs to be reset on the account, we will require verification of your license key (which can be found in your Hudu admin >> License Key tab).
Limited Mode
If your Hudu environment has more users than the number of users being paid for, your environment will enter
limited mode (you still have access to your data, but you will not be able to add data or make changes within your environment).
To resolve this issue, follow the steps in the Changing License Count section above to increase the number of users being paid for.
