- Navigate vast amounts of documentation in seconds;
- Link relevant step-by-step processes and KB articles to provide procedures, assist with support, and provide real-time status reports to clients while recording any actions performed.
- Create or connect existing passwords, tied directly to their asset enabling the ability to copy usernames, passwords, and TOTP codes directly from the asset page.
Relationships can be created for data of the same type (like linking an asset to another asset) OR linking different types of data together (like linking login credentials for an application, directly to the application!)
Guides
Access to related items and functions may vary depending on your Hudu user role as well as the security permissions placed upon you/your security group by the admin and super admin accounts at your organization.
To see/utilize related items, you'll need at least ( 2 ) pieces of information stored within a client space (this could be two passwords, KB articles, assets, processes, or a mix of multiple).
Related Items
- Navigate inside a client space >> into an asset layout (we'll use 'Desktops' for our example) >> and into an individual asset (we'll use 'Fred's Desktop').
In addition to custom assets, the related items tab can also be found inside individual passwords, processes, KB articles, and website pages.
- On the right-hand side, you'll see a sidebar containing a section called Related Items.
- From here, click + Add.
- This will open a module that allows you to:
- Select the type of information you'd like to relate to (i.e. client, custom asset, article, password, or website)
- Enter the name of the asset you'd like to relate to (i.e. name of password, name of the website, etc.)
- Additional abilities:
- Uncheck the 'Limit to client' if you'd like to relate the item to an asset stored within another client space
- Include archived, for linking to items stored inside the Museum.
To perform the following actions, the process's ability will need to be enabled in the asset layout that we'll be working with (visit the Editing Asset Layouts).
Processes will also need to be created and converted to template status (visit Processes for information on creating processes).
- Navigate inside a client space >> into an asset layout (we'll use 'Desktops' for our example) >> and into an individual asset (we'll use 'Fred's Desktop')
- On the right-hand sidebar, you'll see a section called Processes (if this ability has been enabled for the current asset layout).
- From here, click + Add.
- This will direct you to a window where you can see all of your clients' [the client space you currently reside] processes that have been converted to templates.
- Select the desired process that you'd like to link; this will create a child process (blank copy of the selected template) ready to be completed for the chosen asset!
Security permissions will follow the permissions placed upon the password, and will be adopted from the parent asset they were created under; further restriction of these passwords is still possible.
- Navigate inside a client space >> into an asset layout (we'll use 'Desktops') >> and into an individual asset (we'll use 'Fred's Desktop').
In addition to custom assets, the related items tab can also be found inside individual passwords, processes, KB articles, and website pages.
-
- On the right-hand sidebar, you'll see a section called Passwords (if this ability has been enabled for the current asset layout).
- From here, click + Add.
- This will direct you to a window where you can add a new password.
- Click Create or Create and Add Another to save the current password.
- Back on the asset page, you should now have a direct link to the password, with a copy-able username, password, and TOTP code (if this was set up).
Asset Links
For additional information on adding fields, visit Asset Layouts.
Creating or adding the actual connection to another asset is done from within the asset >> 'edit' function.
- Navigate to client space >> into the asset layout where you've just added the asset link.
- To create asset link fields, you'll need to have a user role of admin or super-admin.
- Click into an individual asset >> click the Edit icon in the top right.
- Find your asset link field and search for the name of the asset you'd like to link.
- Click Update to save your changes.
- You should now have a field within your custom card; that links to the asset you've chosen.
