Migrating Existing Adapters into Collectors (Beta access required)

Hudu Radar now supports multiple collectors per company. If you previously scanned more than one site under a single company (uncommon), you'll need to use the migration wizard to place each network adapter into the correct collector.

Before you start

  • Plan which adapters belong to which physical site.
  • Every collector’s Radar service must be on version 2.1.0 or later. Machines still on an older version will stop scanning and syncing until they are updated.
  • Your core Hudu web app must be on version 2.46.0 or later.
  • Adapter assignments cannot be changed after you save. Review carefully before creating collectors.

When the wizard appears

Open the company in Hudu and go to Radar. If this company still needs multi-collector setup and has more than one network adapter, the wizard opens automatically with the title Introducing Multi-Collector Support.

Step 1: Choose how to proceed

Pick the option that matches your situation:

  • I have existing adapters I need to move in this company — Continue the wizard for this company.
  • I do not need to move existing adapters in this company — Dismiss the wizard for this company only.
  • I do not need to move existing adapters in any company — Dismiss the wizard for your whole Hudu account.

Choose option 1 to reorganize adapters.

Step 2: Name your collectors

Give each collector a clear site name (for example, HQ, Warehouse, or Branch Office).

  • Your existing collector is pre-filled. You can rename it.
  • A second collector field is included so you can name the next site.
  • Use Add Another if you need more than two collectors.
  • Collector names are required and must be unique within the company.
  • You must create at least two collectors in this wizard.

Select Next when the names look right.

Step 3: Assign adapters to collectors

For each adapter, choose which collector it belongs to.

  • Adapters show their name and CIDR address.
  • Offline adapters display an offline indicator; you can still assign them.
  • Every collector must have at least one adapter before you can continue.

Select Next when assignments are complete.

Step 4: Review and create

Review the collector names and the adapters listed under each one.

You will see two important notices:

  • Adapter assignments cannot be edited after they are saved.
  • Every collector’s Radar service must be on 2.1.0 or later.

When everything looks correct, select Create Collectors.

After you finish

If the save succeeds, you will see a confirmation that collectors were created and adapters were assigned. Select Close.

Your adapters are now organized by collector for that company. Make sure each site’s Radar service is updated to 2.1.0 or later so scanning continues normally.

If something goes wrong while saving, close the error message and try again, or contact Hudu support.

Tips

  • Name collectors after physical sites so your team can tell them apart later.
  • Do not create a collector you cannot assign an adapter to yet—the wizard blocks empty collectors.
  • If you only have one adapter at this company, you usually do not need this wizard; Hudu may dismiss it automatically for that company.
