Many times, clients will have multiple locations or properties associated with them. Hudu has two main ways of handling them: Parent/Child Relationships, and The Asset Layout Method.
First method: Parent/Child Relationships
How to use
- Go to a child company that you want to associate a parent with
- Click the Edit button
- In the Parent Client field, search for the parent client you would like to associate it with.
- Click the Save button
Situations it is best used for
This method is best when the data between clients is very loosely associated. For example, if you have a client that is a franchise where most of the data between locations (computers, people, networks) are completely separate and unique.
Second method: The Asset Layout Method
How to use
- Go to the Hudu Admin
- Go to Assets
- Create a new Asset Layout called Locations (or Sites).
- Add a few fields like Address, Primary Contact, Site Description
- Turn off passwords and files in the Edit Asset Layout option
- In each company, create a few locations with names and addresses like:
- Primary Location
- Secondary Location
- Branch off Elizabeth Street
- Location #4
- Tag assets or use relationships to associate info with each site/location.
Situations it is best used for
This method is best when the data between clients is very tightly associated. For example, if you have a client with multiple locations that share the same computers, people, networks, devices, etc.
