Hudu's rich text editor has been rebuilt from the ground up on TipTap, a modern, block based editing engine. It powers the Knowledge Base article editor and every rich text field across Hudu, and it keeps all the formatting options you already use while adding new ways to build and organize content, including drag and drop blocks, floating menus, and slash commands.

Formatting text
Highlight any text to bring up the floating formatting menu. From here you can apply bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, links, text color, and headings, the same options available in the previous editor.
Using slash commands
Type / at the start of a line to open the slash command menu. This gives you a quick way to insert headings, lists, tables, callout boxes, code blocks, and images without leaving the keyboard.
Keep typing after the slash to filter the menu, then use the arrow keys and Enter to select an option.
Adding callout boxes
Type /callout to insert a callout box. Four styles are available: info, tip, warning, and danger, matching the same callout types used throughout Hudu's own documentation.
Drag and drop blocks
Hover over the left edge of any paragraph, list, table, or image to reveal a drag handle. Click and hold the handle to reorder content within the article.
Working with tables
Insert a table from the slash command menu or the toolbar. Once a table is on the page, you can add or remove rows and columns, and drag a column edge to resize it.
Finding and replacing text
Use Ctrl+F (Windows) or Cmd+F (Mac) while editing to open find and replace. Enter a search term to jump between matches, or enter replacement text to update them one at a time or all at once.
Adding images
Paste, drag in, or upload an image directly into the article body. Images can be placed inline with text or on their own line.
Adding an image directly inside a bulleted or numbered list isn't supported yet. The image will be placed below the list instead.
Tools
While editing, your changes are periodically saved as a draft so in progress work isn't lost if you navigate away or your session is interrupted.
The editor follows your selected Hudu theme, so formatting and callouts stay readable in both light and dark mode.
Support for pasting and importing markdown directly into the editor is currently in progress and will be documented here once it's available.

No. Existing content continues to display the same way. The new editor changes how you build and edit content, not how previously published articles render.
Yes. The updated editor applies to all rich text fields across Hudu, not just the Knowledge Base article editor.
Yes, pasting from other sources is supported. Formatting may need minor cleanup after pasting, the same as with the previous editor.
Troubleshooting
Pressing backspace at the very start of a line can merge it with the block above, which is expected behavior for block based editors. If this causes trouble, undo with Ctrl+Z / Cmd+Z and try repositioning your cursor first.
If cell text alignment doesn't appear to update after editing a published table, try republishing the article after making the change. Our team is aware of this and continuing to improve table editing.
On narrow screens, the find and replace panel can overlap the top of the article. Scrolling the article down slightly will reveal the hidden text while the panel is open.
