IronDiff integrates directly with Hudu to automatically keep your IT documentation aligned with your network configuration backups. When a new configuration is uploaded, IronDiff generates a visual diff and syncs it to the appropriate Hudu company as an asset — eliminating the need for manual documentation updates.

Integration Features
IronDiff’s integration with Hudu automatically synchronizes configuration changes into your documentation platform.
What it brings over:
- Device configuration diffs (as Hudu assets)
- Site and Group metadata
- Direct links back to IronDiff devices
When the integration is enabled, IronDiff will automatically create and maintain assets inside Hudu for each mapped device. These assets are updated whenever a configuration change is detected.
Each synced asset includes:
- Site
- Group
- Latest Config Diff (visual HTML comparison)
- IronDiff Portal Link
Pre-Made Asset Layouts
IronDiff automatically creates a dedicated IronDiff Asset Layout in Hudu during the first sync.
- No manual configuration is required
- All necessary fields are created and maintained automatically
- Layout updates are handled by IronDiff
You may customize the layout in Hudu (icon, color, etc.) without affecting synchronization.
Enabling the Integration
The integration can be enabled at any time and begins syncing immediately after configuration.
Creating a Hudu API Key
Navigate to the Hudu Admin Area
Select Account Administration → API
Click + New API Key in the top-right corner
Choose Full Access
Name the API key as desired
Enable Password Access
- Click Create.

Copy the generated key.
- Be sure to copy the key and keep this in a secure location; this will be the last time that you can see this key.
Setting up the Integration in IronDiff
- In the IronDiff Cloud Portal, go to Settings
- Scroll to the Hudu Integration section
- Toggle Enable Hudu Sync ON
- Enter your Hudu Base URL
- Enter your Hudu API Key
- Click Save Hudu Settings
Mapping Sites to Hudu Companies
After enabling the integration:
- Click Manage Site-to-Company Mappings
- Match each IronDiff Site to a Hudu Company
- Leave as No Mapping (Sync Disabled) to exclude a site
Notes:
- Only mapped sites will sync to Hudu
- Use Refresh Company List if needed
Initial Sync
To populate Hudu with your existing data:
- Click Sync All Devices to Hudu
This will:
- Create IronDiff assets in each mapped company
- Upload the latest configuration diffs
How It Works
Once configured, the integration runs automatically:
- A configuration backup is uploaded to IronDiff
- IronDiff compares it with the previous version
- A visual diff is generated
- The diff is pushed to the mapped Hudu company
- The asset is created or updated automatically
