In order to set up an integration with HelpGhost, you will need:
- Ability to access API settings in Hudu.
- Admin or Super Admin role in Hudu.
- Active HelpGhost account with Scholar access.
Integration Features
HelpGhost's integration with Hudu allows you to sync:
- Central KB articles
- Company KB articles
HelpGhost will automatically sync your selected Hudu documentation into its Scholar knowledge base, enabling:
- AI-powered search across all selected documentation.
- Real-time knowledge retrieval during support tickets.
- Automatic nightly synchronization and manual sync options.
- Client-specific knowledge segmentation through tenant mapping.

Enabling the HelpGhost Integration
Integrations can be enabled at any point during your Hudu environment testing and/or during production. The integration built by HelpGhost was built via the Hudu API.
Step 1: Create API Key in Hudu
- Navigate to Hudu Admin → Account Administration → API.
- Click + New API Key in the top right.
- Set Access Level to Full Access.
- Name the key (e.g., “HelpGhost Integration”).
- Enable Password Access for future password retrieval features.
- You do not need to restrict to a specific company.
- You do not need to list allowed IP addresses.
- You do not need to allow access to destructive actions.
- Click Create and copy the key.
Step 2: Completing Setup in HelpGhost
- Log in to your HelpGhost account.
- Navigate to Settings → Integrations.
- Click Activate in the Hudu integration card.
- Click Hudu Settings.
- Enter your Hudu base URL (without https://).
- Paste your API key.
- Click Activate.
Importing Documentation
- Go to Scholar → Data Sources in HelpGhost
- Click Add Data Source
- Your Hudu integrationi will display all available companies and folders.
- Select the documentation you want to sync:
- Mulit-select entire companies.
- Choose specific folders.
- Select individual articles.
- Map PSA tenants for client-specific access.
Synchronization
- Documentation syncs automatically every night.
- Manual sync available with “Sync Live Data Sources”.
- Only changed content is updated to maintain system performance.
- View sync status and manage content through the Scholar interface.
Tenant Mapping
HelpGhost supports client-specific knowledge segmentation by mapping PSA companies to Hudu Articles. This ensures teams only access documentation relevant to their assigned clients, maintaining security and reducing information noise.
To setup tenant mapping:
- Select a Hudu article during import.
- Choose the corresponding PSA company.
- Only users assigned to that tenant will have access to the documentation.
