Is Your Hudu Cloud-Hosted Instance Unavailable?

If you’re seeing an issue where your Hudu instance appears to be down, don’t worry—this is often temporary and resolves on its own within a few minutes. Before submitting an urgent support ticket, here are some common reasons this might be happening and steps you can take to verify or troubleshoot.

🕐 Scheduled Updates or Maintenance

Most hosted Hudu instances are automatically updated to ensure you're running the latest features and security patches. During this update process, the instance may be temporarily unavailable.

When does this happen?

Updates are typically performed after normal business hours for your region, minimizing disruption during the workday.

What to do:

Wait about 10 minutes, then refresh your browser. In most cases, the instance will be back online without any action needed. During this time, you may briefly see a 502 Bad Gateway (NGINX) error while your instance is restarting.

🌐 Network or Firewall Restrictions

Sometimes, network or VPN configurations can block access to your hosted instance, especially in corporate environments.

What to do:

Try accessing the instance:

• From a different network (e.g., switch from office Wi-Fi to mobile data)

• From a different device

• After disabling VPN or proxy if applicable

If it loads on another network, the issue is likely local to your current network setup.

🔄 Temporary Hosting Platform Glitch

Just like any cloud-based platform, the underlying infrastructure may occasionally experience brief service hiccups. These are often resolved automatically within a short time.

What to do:

Give it a few minutes and try again. Most of the time, this issue resolves before a ticket is even answered.
